NUTRITION NOTES

Inflammation is at the root of many health challenges, big and small, from joint pain to cardiovascular disease and neurological issues. We all have inflammation to some extent because we live in a highly inflammatory world (due to stress, diet, environmental pollutions, etc.). One of the best ways to reduce inflammation is to balance blood sugar, eat more plants 🌱 and incorporate powerful anti inflammatory foods like ginger, cilantro and greens.

Cilantro is also a powerful detoxify but be sure not to over do the cilantro. Cilantro does an amazing job pulling toxins out of stored tissues, but not as good of a job expelling them from the body. This can leave some of the toxins recirculating the blood stream if cilantro is consumed in excess. Adding chlorella can help pick up the slack and help shuttle toxins out of the body, but consult with a trained practitioner prior to an intensive herbal detox.

Freshly ground flax is added to help stabilize blood sugar and keep energy even. Flax is also very supportive of hormone balance. To make ground flax just put i through a vitamin or other high powered blender until it turns to a powder, about 60 seconds. Make it in small batches and store in the freezer. You want to make your own ground flax because flax seeds are very sensitive to air, so they go rancid quickly. Preground flax is already rancid when you buy it.
