Did you know that stress rapidly burns through nutrients in our body because it’s so demanding of resources?

This often leaves certain nutrients depleted that are incredibly important for our bodies to function, causing even more stress in the body and a bit of a vicious cycle.

This is why those with burnout often have dozens upon dozens of nutrient deficiencies and why yours truly, had to have a weekly, three hour IV drip of nutrients for three months once i finally saw a functional MD in 2017.

A beautiful way to help a chronically stressed body is with a morning adrenal tonic rich in vitamin C, potassium, sodium, and antioxidants, all essential nutrients that fall quickly with stress.

INGREDIENTS


Adrenal Tonic

Serves 1

20 oz warm filtered water

1/4 -1/2 tsp himalayan pink salt*

1 serving whole food source of vitamin c such as pomegranate powder (my favorite) or baobab powder.


METHOD


Combine in a glass and stir well.

Important Note: Typically the more stressed a body is, the more depleted it is of sodium, and the greater the craving is. That being said, I salt to taste because my body craves what it needs. However, I have low blood pressure, which is common with long term stress once it’s teetered into burnout (or is recovering from that state). For those with high blood pressure, consult your physician. Adding potassium rich foods can also really help with blood pressure and be more effective than reducing sodium. Lastly, choose a quality salt like pink himalayan salt which is full of trace minerals.
